The Public Safety Department is responsible for providing a safe and secure living and learning environment for the Villanova University community. Officers are on duty 365 days a year and provide immediate response to all types of emergencies on campus. The Department, which consists of approximately 75 employees, provides services in the areas of patrol, investigations, parking enforcement, passenger fleet van management, residence hall protection, building security, crime prevention, and special event security. Of its 75 employees, there are twenty one sworn police officer positions at ranks including uniformed patrol, investigations, training, and administration.
The Department is accredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC).
